Does Splatbarn need a server or an installer?

Neither. Splatbarn is peer-to-peer over WebRTC, so the players' browsers talk to each other directly. Nothing installs.

Will it work on a locked-down work browser?

Yes. If the browser can open the page it can run the game: Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on Windows, macOS or a Chromebook, with no admin rights and no download.

Five places, all built from a number

Every map is generated from a seed, so the same seed always builds the same world — and everybody in the room is standing in the same one. These are the game's own camera, lights, fog and sky.
