Steer assist keeps you on the road when you are not turning enough. It will not drive for you, it cannot out-steer you, and it is slower than a good lap — so turn it off once the circuit is familiar.

Controls

Keyboard — ↑ or W accelerate, ↓ or S brake and reverse, ←→ steer, Shift drift, Space jump, E use item, Q look back, Esc pause.
Gamepad — right trigger accelerate, left stick steer, shoulder buttons drift, A to jump, X or Y for items.
Touch — hold anywhere on the right to accelerate, slide your left thumb to steer (slide it down to brake). The bottom-right corner drifts when held and jumps when tapped; the button left of it uses your item.
On the grid — start accelerating on the last beat of the countdown for a launch turbo. Too early and you bog down. The ring round the item slot shows the charge.
